- Enthusiastic 18 year old looking for a job/apprenticeship/working pupil position that can expand my knowledge and gain experience in the equine industry.
Qualifications
Pony club efficiency tests C, C+, B (Equivalent to BHS stage 2) and road rider. Hoping to work towards AH in the future.
Equine Work Experience
I have 3 horses and ponies which i fully care for myself. One of which had COPD and cushings disease and the other has had a career changing injury. Alongside i also care for a couple of our liveries horses. I have cared for and ridden liveries and friends horses so have experience with all types and understand they all have their own individual requirements.
I am a small and lightweight rider so ride small 13hh ponies but equally am strong enough to ride larger horses. I have helped break in a rescue pony so have some experience of breaking in and riding away.
I have a broad knowledge of the general care and riding of horses that i have picked up and been taught over the years ... although with equines you are always learning something new!!
I have lots of basic equine first aid and human first aid experience. Additionally i have passed the PC B test so have good knowledge on a range of ailments and injuries.
Specialities
I am passionate about horses. I understand that they are creatures of habit, flight and flight animals and all have special individual requirements.
I can turn out to good standard. I have recently learned to clip and can do so to a decent standard, can pull manes and plait to a good, but ever improving, standard including plaiting with thread.
Type of Ride Work
I mainly show jump and this is where my passion has aways been! However have recently taken up doing more dressage including BD and hunting. Any type of ride work that is available would be suitable and of interest to me as i am enthusiastic about all disciplines. I don’t have any experience of riding racehorses but given the opportunity i would love to as i feel my riding is strong enough to transfer to that sphere of the equine industry.
Competition Details
Have competed BS 1.05 - 1.10, schooled round 1.15 and jumped a single fence of 1.25 on my 15hh mare. Have worked my pony up to BD Novice after a career changing tendon injury. Additionally i have taken part in unaffiliated eventing, riding club events to nationals and Pony Club team events.
