Duties of Current Occupation
I'm currently working at a private Western reining yard, caring for 7 horses. I am responsible for all aspects of equine care as well as arena and field management. I also run my vet physio business; www.thebiomechanicvetphysio.co.uk
Equine Work Experience
- Involved with horses from the age of six, including handling, riding and stable management
- Working with rescued and rehabilitated horses, for 1.5 years, learning IH techniques, focusing on handling and exercising horses from the ground
- Working on a livery yard, being responsible for the care of up to 17 horses, including usual yard duties as well as exercising through riding and lungeing
- Working on a private hunting/showing yard, usual yard duties, turning out for hunting and competition, getting hunters fit through hacking, schooling and fast work.
- Working on a high-end, private event yard, using advanced equipment, including equine treadmill and spa.

I have been trained to an alternative method of horse management known as 'intelligent horsemanship' to include skills such as;

Competition Details
Working hunter classes. - Ensuring horse is turned out to a very high standard, as confirmation is also judged, so any minor flaws/scars must be covered. - I must also be presentable, as I need to enter the ring to assist the rider during the line up.
Local one day events - Ensuring horse is turned out to a high standard.- Packing the horsebox and ensuring safe transport of the horse to the event. - Quick tack changing between disciplines. - Proper wash off and cool down after competition.
