In the last 3 years I have completed both my level 2 and 3 in Racehorse care whilst working full time in a licensed racing yard in which I was responsible for: Exercising a variety of performance horses Turning out to a high standard Equine first aid Mucking out/ pasture management Cleaning/ repairing tack Swimming/ aqua treadmill horses Preparing feeds/ medication

I have completed a Kickstart placement at a trekking yard, during which I was responsible for the following tasks: Sole charge of the yards on a regular basis (40 – 60 horses) Training young horses Feeding Handling/ weaning mares and foals Turning horses out & bringing them in Assisting treks Supported transportation of all horses (of a variety of temperaments) Holding horses for farrier, dentist and vet Helping with basic health maintenance (e.g. worming) Dealing with rider registration and other basic customer service tasks Helping customers tack-up Mucking out

I've worked with foals and young horses, and supported their training. I've also worked with mares and on occasion have handled a stallion. I can turn horses out to a high standard often winning best turned out at the races.

I have been riding for eight years. As a young person, I took jumping lessons and attended specialist clinics. I completed a Kickstart placement at a busy trekking yard in rural Mid-Wales, where I have ridden a range of horses, including green and young horses. The last 3 1/2 years I have been riding races horses 2yr+ both flat and national hunt with occasional schooling and stalls experience.
