Comments
I would prefer live-in but am flexible provided I have time to relocate, should this be necessary. I have three well behaved, small terrier bitches (spayed) and my 19yr old cob gelding, who doesn’t have to live on site, but again, preferable.
Qualifications

No specific equine quals, but experience counts for a great deal. I do have qualifications in other areas however; English BA and Counselling qualification, NPL and Usui Master Practitioner, qualified Life Coach.

Duties of Current Occupation

General yard duties, mucking out, feeding, grooming. Dealing with young stock in preparation for selling on. Helping occasionally in the office, emailing, drawing up plans, typing letters, contacting other service industries, making phone calls etc.

Equine Work Experience

In my youth I worked for a couple of years with the driver of a team of 4 in-hand and competed on a national level as navigator and groom. More recently working with young stock, French bred thoroughbreds in readiness for the sales.

Most recently, beginning in 2014, for seven years I was sole charge, live-in groom on a family run yard where the owners bred NH and Flat thoroughbreds. When I began my duties included backing, flat work, schooling exercising, groundwork, lunging and long-reining. As my employers came closer to retirement my equine duties changed as the breeding halted and my employer chose to buy in yearlings and prepare them for the sales as three-year olds. So my duties were less demanding in terms of riding as the youngsters were sold with ground manners only.

Specialities

Lunging, long reining, ground work, some flat work. General yard duties, maintenance and welfare. Excellent organisational skills, trained counsellor, Usui reiki Master Practitioner, NLP Master Practitioner and BA in English so written and admin skills are excellent. Good around an office, and have worked in the education system (comprehensives, alternative provision, FE and HE) so all round skills with young people.

Type of Ride Work

Have experience of starting/backing, schooling young horses (thoroughbreds) and exercise riding (thoroughbreds and hunters). However, in my maturity I would prefer either a non-riding position or a role with steady horses.

Competition Details

Competing at National level, for two years, with a team of 4 in-hand as groom and navigator.
