Duties of Current Occupation

Self Employed horse sitter for clients when on holiday Riding Flat / Over Fence, Lunging, Feed / Turnout / Bring in, Muck Out , Apply medications, Prep for Competing / Hunting Yard Manger on Event / Stud farm

Equine Work Experience

19 years experience in working with horses. I have previously had two horses however now I currently ride for people bringing horses on, breaking in and backing, one-to-one work with a lot of green, young or troubled horses. Have previously worked at Houghton Hall Equestrian and Alpaca Centre as a yard groom for just short of a year. I was a full time yard groom and often left to run the yard if the manager was ill or absent on competitions.

I have also been in 2017 a Yard Manager to Stud/Event yard Including

  • daily ops of the equine yard including the owners 7 horses / 5 dogs and 6 alpacas
  • In charge of all food and bedding orders [incl. deciding what we use]
  • Prepping the horses for competition and accompanying the owner's daughter to ODE's with 2/3 horses.
  • Ensuring all yard grooms are equally deligated chores and also getting stuck in and helping out.
  • Checking over all animals for wounds in the field / kennels and administering meds / bandages if needed.
