Duties of Current Occupation

Day to day care of horses, dealing with farriers/vets, preparing horses for competiton and mainly sole charge of the daily running of the yard.

Equine Work Experience

I’m an enthusiastic and hard working individual with many years of experience dealing with a variety of horses and atmospheres, from riding school through to competition. I have been working full time in the equine industry for the past 6 years, however have around 15 years experience with horses, from lessons, volunteering, college and also ownership. Previously I have competed in a variety of dressage, showing and eventing and have also played a groom's role at these events so am used to plaiting and general turnout. I always take great pride in my work and my real passion for horses always helps me work hard to ensure they are kept to the highest of standard, whether it be in the stable, field or competition, both care and turnout wise.

Specialities

A valuable team player who has a wide variety of experience with different horses, from fluffy ponies to ex racers and competition horses. I have a lot of experience in sole charge and also being the head of a small team, working effectively to get the yard done in a way best suited to time management and efficiency.

Type of Ride Work

I have a lot of experience with lunging a variety of horses and am comfortable and knowledgeable on many of the training aids including their uses and fitting. Riding wise, I am a quiet rider who always tries to get the best possible out of the horse, having ridden a variety of horses including schoolmasters, ex racers and competition horses. I'm a capable rider on the flat and although jumping hasn't been the main focus for the last few years, I am capable of popping round a course of fences.

Competition Details

Competed at prelim level dressage with aims to go novice (were restricted due to horses injury/retirement) Evented at 80 unaffiliated (2018) Have also done hunter trials, show jumping and showing.

I have previously worked on a yard that had a variety of horses competing at different levels in all disciplines, regularly handling and dealing with these horses and some of their slightly quirkier behaviours.
