Duties of Current Occupation

I am a walking tour guide, escorting groups worldwide. Im responsible for planning, sourcing and delivering information. I am in sole charge of the group and am there to provide support and make sure the customer has a rewarding tour.

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding and a previous owner of horses for 25yrs. During my early career years, I was a groom for an eventing family. I was responsible for 8 horses and the yard, of which I took sole charge. I was also responsible for maintaining the house and the yard during his absence.

I have also worked within a riding school assisting with teaching. I am used to working around young horses, eventing and sports horses.

I have worked as a horse trekking guide in Greece and Spain, consisting of escorting treks for beginners to advanced and offering teaching. The treks include hourly rides locally up to and including week-long treks covering large distances. In addition to this are the general stable management, cleaning, grooming, feeding duties and general horse care. The stables I have been a guide for have been for on average 32 horses and ponies.

Routine daily and weekly yard duties to a high standard as required. To deliver high standards of horse care and yard presentation. To meet the individual needs of clients with excellent customer care. To ensure the safety and welfare of horses, staff and clients is paramount. To provide exercise of horses, to include lunging. To ride client and school horses as directed. To ensure close communication and liaison with staff in other departments.

Type of Ride Work

I am an experienced exerciser with hunters and eventers, sports horses. I competed when I was younger and had my own horses. I am keen to learn and gain further experience, and gain HGV licence in order to progress my career. I enjoy all aspects of maintaining a yard, and looking after the horses welfare. I am a hard working positive member of a team, but also very happy to work solely.
