Equine Work Experience

A life time of owning horses. Horses are a hobby for me, I hack and enjoyed endurance and competing at local shows. I enjoy all aspects of horse care and horse management and love to learn new skills. I have found problem horses to be my niche, I have a lot of patience which has grown over time. Having owned mainly native breeds, my plaiting skills are in serious need of being improved!! But I can clip, muck out, apply bandages, have basic equine first aid. Have had experience handling youngsters also. Very confident when handling all types and sizes of horses. My height and weight work in my favour when handling larger balshy horses, where smaller grooms may struggle. But I always treat horses with the respect they deserve and with the patience required to get the job done.

Specialities

I've had experience with a variety of breeds, types and heights of horses and ponies throughout my 40 something years of being around them. I love the challenge of handling youngstock and bigger balshy horses.

Type of Ride Work

Mainly flatwork now. Lost all confidence in jumping after a bad fall but would be willing to regain that confidence over time. I'm still a very competent rider and enjoy hacking and schooling.
