I have experience with all general yard and groom duties and have worked on a variety of yards including riding schools, luxury horse safari holidays, an event competition yard and at present a horse rescue centre.
Specialities
I have experience working with a variety of horses from youngsters and competition horses to feral rescue ponies. I have previously handled stallions who event to a high level and more recently donkey stallions, and I am also used to working with foals.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden event horses on the flat and hacking. I have brought on horses for safari in Botswana, which involved getting horses used to big game such as elephants and lions as well as schooling them on the flat and jumping ensuring they were safe for guests. I regularly ride my own pony who team chases and does unaffiliated competitions.
Competition Details
I have previously worked on an eventing competition yard for three months as part of my placement year whilst at university, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I attended a few shows and clinic demonstrations as a groom for my employer.
I currently compete my own pony in a variety of disciplines, including unaffiliated dressage, showjumping and eventing but I am currently focused on team chasing.
