Duties of Current Occupation

Experience in eventing grooming at both a backing and breaking yard as well as sole charge of a 4* event yard. General upkeep of yard, leading and working as a team and general duties like mucking out, riding and grooming.

Equine Work Experience

Groom at Alec Miles Equestrian (july 2022 -june 2023) and Event groom at Aston Stud/Bruce Haskell Eventing (july 2023- November 2024). My roles in both jobs included handling and turning out/bringing in a variety of horses from young breakers to competition horses, mucking out during both the morning and evening in a timely manner whilst maintaining quality, tacking up and untacking horses quickly, washing off and grooming, mixing feeds, cleaning the yard and school, lunging and long-lining horses, hacking and cooling off/warming up horses, and holding horses for vets and farriers. Have groomed at Events from novice to 4*, showjumping and dressage as well as competed my own horses.

Specialities

I am considered a conciseness Person on the yard who is keen to learn and get stuck in with tasks no matter my experience with it. I am a quick learner who is always looking to take on new skills, not afraid of hard work or a challenge, and am confident around difficult horses. High standard of mucking out at speed, leadership skills, turnout to a high standard, quick to notice abnormalities in horses, worked with stallions, 4* horses and young stock, yard management experience.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden recently backed youngsters and assisted with the breaking process on multiple horses, as well as hacking and schooling various competition horses up to 4*. I have ridden ex-racehorses and produced my own from the track, who I now compete, as well as re-backing problem horses. I have a high level of flatwork and jumping having been coached under two 4* eventers and have experience on a wide range of horses.

Competition Details

Have worked at a 4* event yard and groomed away at shows on multiple occasions. This ranged from novice events up to 4*, Showjumping and dressage. I am also experienced in competing my own horses in Showjumping and Dressage. This means I am experienced in bathing and show prep, as well as lorry preparation, tack cleaning and studs, and maintenance of multiple horses at shows.
