Employment History. I started out at 14 waitressing, for 3yrs. Here is where my strong work ethic and independence grew. Always using my own initiative. I then became a Sailing Instructor, working in a united team teaching students from all ages.
My G-Grandfather was a carriage driver before he had to send his horses into the war. You could say I have a natural horsemanship and great love for horses in my blood and ancestry. My first encounter a vivid memory of mine was age 6. From that day on I knew I wanted to ride horses. I started attending Saturday pony days at my local yard and couldn’t wait to learn. I later changed yards and become a PCM. In my early teens, I became a Saturday religious regular. Loving everything from mucking out, to feeding. One summer I did a 5 day pony camp, where I tried carriage driving, side saddle and western. I later attended a Mock Hunt and have since galloped across Devon beaches twice. I was a junior calvary member, riding in formation wearing blunt spurs and a red uniform. I feel very at ease and comfortable around horses, small or large. I have found in my growing age I become more nervous when actually riding. However once in the saddle I am reminded of my love and passion for the sport.
I am a gently and patient rider, who cares about animal welfare and would treat any horse like their own. I realise the importance of being proficient in given tasks and I have a extremely high level of standards. I am a very tidy and organised person. Although I have a full driving license, this does not allow me to drive horse boxes, but this is something I am looking into and would like to do.
Can comfortably sit to a walk, trot, canter. Have only ever jumped 3ft.
My riding progression was coming along really well, however after stopping for a couple of years to focus on my exams. My technique does not match my enthusiasm for riding. However due to the honesty, I would greatly appreciate an opportunity for someone to correct me and teach me more. I am a fast learner and take on board any criticism. I have very high standards and my work ethic is second to none.
