Qualifications

I have a BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Creative Media Production.

GCSE's- I have 9 qualifications at grade C equivalent or above. These consist of the following: Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, Statistics, Geography, Photography, Art and Design, Religious Studies and Citizenship.

I also aim to one day complete my BHS Level 1, 2 and 3 exams.

Duties of Current Occupation

My occupation requires me to have good people skills, due to a large proportion of my job revolving around communicating with customers. I also serve drinks, handle money, ensure the workplace is tidy and am trusted to lock up in the evenings.

Equine Work Experience

I have owned horses since the young age of 10, and have been committed to riding and taking care of them every day since. I spent the majority of my childhood volunteering at the riding school my first pony was stabled at, not only helping with general stable duties but also assisting in lessons and exercising some of the more difficult horses. I spent 9 months volunteering for my local RDA also. I also spent time working as a Saturday girl at a livery stables consisting of 16 competition horses, whereby I would take sole charge of the yard and was entirely responsible for each individual horse. My own 2 horses are now kept at my house alongside 4 livery horses, of whom I am solely responsible for dealing with (management wise). Both of my horses were projects, one being an ex racer and the other being a general problem horse; consequently making me entirely unfazed by rearing and general bad behaviour.

Specialities

My main speciality would be that I'm extremely hard working; unlike a lot of individuals my age I would willingly stay beyond my set hours, if for any particular reason my tasks weren't completed to a great standard. I am also very self-motivated- I would set myself aims to ensure I am consistently progressing within the work I am doing, because not only am I very keen to succeed in the race industry, I also care considerably for the horses' welfare.

Type of Ride Work

The main disciplines I currently participate in are show jumping and eventing, I often compete at these disciplines and have been fairly successful in doing so in the past. Racing has always appealed to me more-so however, hence why I am particularly keen to become a racing groom.

Competition Details

Until a couple of years back I would compete every single weekend, whether it be at local unaffiliated events or at higher-up events, such as the Junior Show Jumping Championships of Great Britain in Wales. I also qualified for and competed at the Sunshine Tour event held annually at Hickstead, in the 80 and 90cm show jumping classes. Unfortunately I haven't been able to compete so much in more recent years due to prioritising college, however I am now ready to devote my entire career to horses.
