Equine Work Experience

I've been riding since I was 6, volunteering on a yard from 11 and then working at my first yard at 16 which was mix of riding school, livery and dealing yard which I believe gave me a great mix of skills. At 21 I joined Wildwoods Riding Centre where I started as freelance groom, I then became a more permanent groom and then very quickly rose to Yard Manager due to my organisational qnd team management skills. Here I have gained some of my bhs qualifications. And plan to pursue them forward if possible. I was teaching regularly as well as running a team of 9 and caring for 38 horses. After 4 years as manager there I wanted to further my skills set, I then moved to a dealing/competition yard. As there Yard manager I had horses coming in and out at a very quite rate so I would quickly have to organise an exercise and nutrition programme to get them to the highest standard ready for customers to come and view them. We also go out to alot of competitions so turnout must be impeccable.

Specialities

Working closely with clients to create the best experience possible, Clipping and Grooming to a high standard, Adaptable instructor for all capabilities, Superb organisational skills, I am very confident in working with a team and keeping everyone motivated in their job role. Limiting staff turnover. I am very good at risk assessment to make sure that both staff and clients are safe during any activity. I have the very best people skills and can help resolve any situation that may arise.

Type of Ride Work

I've Rode a large variety of horses in my life time from lethargic riding school ponies to competition horse to youngster and I am happy dealing with the any of quirks and habits of them. I am constantly trying to be the best rider I can, on both the flat and jumping. I am more than capable in both to get the very best out of horses that I ride.

Competition Details

I've always ridden unaffiliated but this year I have joined the bsj.
