Equine Work Experience
From the age of 14 I had a Saturday job working at my local riding this is where I felt at home. At 16 I went to Merrist wood collage where I gained more structure and gained my first diploma in horse care then I went on to do my national diploma in horse management. I then went full time working at my Saturday job which turned into livery/dealing. After 10 yrs I left and started at Stag Lodge Riding school. I was at stag for 10 yrs an in that time have worked up to being the yard manager. I teach all types of rider from beginner lessons up to jumping lessons and also groups. I took out hacks into Richmond Park and Wimbledon common.
I have worked in a busy riding school for 10 years an now its time for a change. I led a team of 14 instructor's and apprentice's in the day to day running of the riding school. All our horses had to be turned out to a high standard, so no stable stains/straw/shavings an feet must be picked before each lesson. With running a busy riding school time efficiency was so important, we worked as a team to ensure all tasks we done to a high standard.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden all sorts from 18.2 Hanoverians to chunky Welsh cobs, I have recently been riding young Irish horses who are very green but willing. Over the last few years I also have done a little bit of competing, from 3 day eventing at keysoe to combined training at Pachesham. I also have competed at dressage.
I have organised and run clear round evenings at my previous job, they were for our in house customers. My old employer used to compete and occasionally I would groom for her.
