Duties of Current Occupation

Currently I'm working as a coach and rider on a freelance basis, also helping with occasional yard cover.

Equine Work Experience

I've been working with horses for over ten years and around them for over 20. This has gained me various experience including managing a historic equine display yard, working as groom/instructor at a few different riding schools, freelance work and working at livery yards, pre-training yard and a private stud.

Type of Ride Work

Experience with young to older horses, from 9hh to 19hh. I've been lucky to gain experience in multiple areas of exercising horses including schooling, hacking, mounted falconry, sidesaddle, quadrille displays and desensitisation. I have hunted side-saddle and been in a 6 furlong side saddle race. After learning to drive I went on to teach horses to drive. I have worked with reactive horses, including bolting, not wanting to ride away from others and being reactive with people.

Competition Details

I have been showing, including riding aside and astride alongside working hunter and driving shows. I have organised events such as training a horse to cope with lights being on them and then taking them to the light turning on event in November. I have organised events of displays to public including a display delivered to 10,000 people over a weekend. These displays I also helped train the horses, riders and deliver the display which involved riding and commentating.
