Equine Work Experience

As detailed above, whilst I have not been employed in a professional equestrian environment, I’m very experienced in working at a busy riding school/livery yard. My work was regularly commended by the proprietor and by always delivering high standards I was then trusted to take my part loan pony or one of the school ponies to events such as dressage, show jumping and cross country where I achieved a number of Rosettes. I have more recently owned my own horse who I acquired straight from breaking in and was successful in schooling him to a good standard.

Specialities

I’m currently in Aberystwyth university studying Agriculture with Animal Science. I’ve been involved with horses from an early age. Part loaning at my local stables, this involved supporting with all activities including mucking out, cleaning the yard, lead reining for inexperienced and disabled riders, supported with the organisation and running of fun days and pony days. All of these tasks were completed efficiently and effectively.

Type of Ride Work

I have experience of riding a wide range of horses. Quite often, my riding school proprietor would purchase green horses for me to part loan as she knew I had the capability to bring them on sufficiently for her to use in lessons etc.

I am competent in flat work and have competed in show jumping courses up to 80cm.

Competition Details

As stated above, I have competed in local dressage, show jumping and cross country competitions.

I have supported with the organising and running of children’s fun days at the riding stables.
