Qualifications
I have completed an 8 week horse care course at The Cavalier Centre in Much Wenlock. I was taught about leading, grooming, tacking up, nutrition and how to spot different equine behaviours. I was also given the opportunity to ride the Cavalier Centre's bespoke mechanical horse as a means of understanding balance, safety and improving posture when riding a horse at a walk, trot and canter.

Equine Work Experience
My experience stems from the 8 week course I completed at The Cavalier Centre in Much Wenlock, the volunteering I did at the Telford Equestrian Centre and the riding and day courses I have completed at Nedge Farm in Stirchley, Telford. I was taught things like completing a full muck out of a stall including refilling hay nets, sanitising water buckets and tidying up shavings beds and pellet beds. I was also taught how to lead, tack up, groom and ride at a walk, trot and canter. I also have experience with hacking and flatwork which I am currently doing at Nedge farm.
Type of Ride Work
I have experience in flatwork and hacking. I am competent in the saddle and know how to keep not only myself safe, but the horse as well. I have experience riding on the road with traffic and know how to signal to other vehicles where I am turning and whether or not I need them to slow down or stop in order to let myself and the horse pass by safely. My flatwork includes knowing how to change the rein, getting my horse to walk, trot, canter and stand when necessary.
