Bio
I’m passionate about horses and have had hands-on experience with vulnerable horses. I have a strong work ethic and I’m very interested in the health and wellbeing of animals, which is a key aspect of my course at university.
Duties of Current Occupation

I volunteered at a yard, from 9-6 every Sunday, caring after horses. I’ve shared horses with reoccurring injuries, so I cared for them instead of riding, as they required, showing I put their needs first. I’ve had work experience with a vet physio.

Equine Work Experience

I’ve had hours of hands on experience from volunteering at a yard from 9-6 every Sunday for a couple years. Where I helped care for horses and developed an understanding of their daily needs and the commitment involved in their welfare. I’ve shared multiple horses, a couple had recurring injuries including a strained tendon and kissing spine, which taught me to prioritise the horses wellbeing over riding. Each owner of the horses have been impressed with my dedication to the horses welfare and commitment to the horse for long periods of time. I have also completed work experience with a veterinary physiotherapist for dogs, which provided me with insight to animal rehabilitation, which I believe can be transferred to equine care. I am passionate about horse care and excited to learn more - particularly in caring for foals and younger horses.

Type of Ride Work

I have done both flatwork and jumping, but primarily flatwork as I learn at a riding school. However, I am the main rider of a Spanish ex-bull fighting horse, back home. I’ve learnt on a mixture of riding school horses and privately owned horses through shares and friends - so I have experienced the differences riding styles required for a range of horse ‘types’. I am a confident rider but would like to work on my jumping technique.
