Qualifications

I hold an Upper Second Bacherlor's Degree in History and Politics from a Russell Group University.

I was then a working student on the National Stud's 'Entry to Stud Employment Course 2023' achieving the 1st4Sport Level 2 Diploma in Work Based Racehorse Care (Breeding Option with Transport).

I've also recently completed Emergency First Aid at Work + Equestrian (valid Aug 2025- Aug 2028), by the First Aid Training Co-Operative UK.

Duties of Current Occupation

Stud Hand for nearly 3 years with mainly Flat run thoroughbreds and 10 months experience with a National Hunt breeder in conjuction with a top British Jumps trainer.

Equine Work Experience

Alne Park Stud: Developed use of yard skills/ stud work/ assisted foalings. More responsibility in veterinary assistance, bandaging and drug administration. Exposure to National Hunt broad mares and 2 year olds. Worked in conjunction with Dan Skelton Racing. Gained Stallion handling experience; grooming, turning out. Held mares for cover. Foal and yearling prep/ sales work for GOFFS UK & Ireland.

Barton Stud: General horse care and yard duties. Mare watch and foaling down. Assist with veterinary and farrier work (foals, yearlings & mares). More exposure to yearlings (daily care and showing to clients). Grooming/ pull manes. Consignor at Tattersalls May HIT Sales.

The National Stud: Youngstock team - very confident with mares and foals. Comfortable assisting in vets and regular medicating. Sitting up/ foaling aid. Weekend work with spellers and yearlings. Weaning & care for all stock living out. Experience with yearlings at the Tatts Somerville and October sales

Specialities

Highly experienced with mares and foals, increasingly so with yearling and 2 year old prep. Have recently begun turning out and grooming stallions but still very naive and learning.
