Duties of Current Occupation

Recently graduated from a BSc in Equine Sport Science, I am now looking at putting my degree to use in a professional setting

Equine Work Experience

I stared volunteering at local riding schools at age 12, assisting with mucking out, tacking up, grooming and helping with clients. At 16 I began working at a livery yard where duties included turning out, mucking out, riding, lunging and monitoring stock of feed and bedding. As well as organising farrier visits and administering first aid when necessary.

For the past 2 years I have had sole responsibility working at a private livery yard where I cary out general yard duties as well as exercising the horses.

Specialities

I have had experience working in riding schools and livery yards working with stallions, racehorses, foals and competition horses ranging from dressage to polocrosse horses.

I have assisted with weaning youngsters and introducing them to being handled and trained.

I have worked in Zimbabwe on a horseback safari, so I have experience working with guests with varying riding abilities. I have also worked on a rehabilitation yard in Australia using cryotherapy and water treadmills

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden ex racehorses, polocrosse horses, high level dressage horses, show jumpers and barrel racing ponies. I primarily show jumped but have recently transitioned into dressage but have experience doing both.

I have assisted starting young stock as well as bringing injured horses back into work as part of a rehabilitation programme. As well as helping retrain racehorses

Competition Details

I have competed in local, unaffiliated shows in both dressage and show jumping
