I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I achieved my pony club B test last summer on first attempt, and am currently working towards my AH. This is the equivalent to the BHS stage four. Last month I also achieved my PC lunge test in preparation for my AH. For the last two years I have been at Plumpton college, doing my level 3 extended diploma in horse management, I am yet to find out my results however I do know that I achieved distinction criteria in all my practical assessments.
I started riding at the age of four, and started to ride competitively from the age of ten, representing my school riding team which is what sparked my love of competitive riding. At fourteen I got my first job in the industry for former Olympic rider Brook Staples working full time for the whole of that summer doing yard duties and grooming at events in return for riding lessons. This is where I started to realise I wanted to event and my riding really started to progress. Since then I have worked on a range of yards from hunting to sales yards alongside helping my Mum run our private DIY yard at home. Last summer I gained my pony club B test and am working towards my AH test which I sit in august. I have just completed two years of level three equine management at plumpton.
I’m a self motivated person able to work well on my own but also thrive in a team situation. Efficient but always insure I have done a quality job whatever the task at hand. Experienced riding everything from young horses through to event horse and used to riding and handling fit and sharp horses as well as stallions. Able to turn horses out to a high standard including plaiting and clipping. I’ve got knowledge of equine first aid. Very practical person always willing to learn to improve myself
I have competed up to BE100 unaffiliated and affiliated on self produced horses taking on young and inexperienced horses such as my current project a 7 y/o ex race horse. The aim is to push his eventing career in the near future. I started hunting at the age of fourteen with OSBWK and South down and Eridge. I have also worked on a hunt yard part time for the last year and a half having been offered the job after a weeks work experience. I have experience riding strong fit horses.
I competed up to BE100 affiliated and unaffiliated. And am a very competitive rider with the aspirations to one day event at a high level. However at the moment due to finance and my passion for producing horses I have taken a step back from competing and am producing an ex race horse with the hopes of us having an eventing career together in the future.
