I have a Diploma in Worked Based Horse Care from Merrist Wood as well as my BHS Ride Safe Award and on top of this my BHS Stages 1 & 2 in Ride and Care. I am hoping to complete more BHS stages in the future.

Liaised with Yard Manager to develop and implement effective yard routine and customer service.
Responsible for daily care of equines and running of yard.

I worked as a groom for two years at a riding school and livery yard as part of an apprenticeship, I stayed on at that yard as head groom for a year after completing the course. Previous to this I had volunteered and had weekend jobs at riding schools. More recently I have worked on a yard on the Goodwood Estate that offers lessons in classical dressage and horsemanship.

Able to turn out to a high standard, quick and efficient on the yard with experience working independently or leading a small team. Experience with young horses and stallions. I also have a particular interest in Classical dressage and natural horsemanship.

I have ridden a huge variety of horses from the 'typical' riding school pony to lessons on Spanish schoolmasters and ex eventers. I have also ridden what most would consider problem horses e.g. those that like to nap or buck or struggle with confidence. In addition to this I have brought horses back into work. With my own horses I mainly have competed dressage although I currently have an Irish Draught gelding and am hoping to do some low level eventing.

I have competed in low level dressage and showjumping with previous ponies and with my current horse I am aiming to work my way up in dressage and maybe try some eventing (if I put my brave pants on). I have helped organize events at the first yard I worked on including some dressage shows/clinics and clear round jumping as well as helping organize events for liveries like beach rides and clinics.
