Qualifications
I have completed a 2 year 14-16 part-time Equine Management course (BTEC Extended Diploma) at Plumpton College, and have been successful completing distinction level targets, whether they were practical or theory based. My predicted grade is a Level 2 Distinction.
Equine Work Experience
I have been around horses for 6 years now and it is my passion. For the first 3 years of being involved in the horse world I was at a riding school, learning and part-loaning as well as volunteering which involved working in a team, helping with lessons, completing stable duties, etc. Since then, I have had many different types of horses that I rode, one being a green and 'hot' mare which gave me lots of experience. I've been able to learn how to deal with nervous horses and difficult situations. I have now got my own horse, and I hope to do eventing with him in the future. He is not the easiest to deal with but I am able to handle things sensibly and safely. Having my own horse has made me realise that a career in the equine industry is something I would really love.
Specialities
I am good at completing stable duties to a high standard as I like to make sure everything is done properly as well as efficiently. I am confident around horses, therefore I do not have a problem with handling stronger or more opinionated horses. I am a patient person which helps me when working with others as well as working with horses. I have dealt with difficult and green horses and have my own whom I care for myself.
Type of Ride Work
I have had experience riding and handling many different horses ranging from riding school ponies to green, nervous and sensitive horses. I am very confident and patient schooling horses on the flat which is my strength. I regularly compete in unaffiliated dressage with my horse. I have some experience jumping and have regular lessons at home. On the ground, I am comfortable handling any horses as I have dealt with spooky and stressed horses as well as rearers and more stubborn characters.
Competition Details
I have taken part in many 'fun' shows in the past, and now regularly compete in unaffiliated dressage and hope to do low-level eventing in the future.
