Qualifications
I have attended many equine courses at Intuitive Horse over last few years which is an ongoing exploration of the ways horses can to allow rehabilitation to take place for both adults and children. Horse therapy has proved highly beneficial to people from all walks of life and seems to benefit people and horses alike.
Duties of Current Occupation
Just ach Level 3 Animal Management covering all aspects of animal care including animal behaviour, biology and day to day care. I am also part of a small team looking after cats at a rescue centre which involves general care and meeting the public.
Equine Work Experience
I learnt to ride at 8 years old and owned a pony for about 15 years and have had a life long love of horses and animals. I no longer ride but regularly attend courses working with horses empathetically and am happy to groom, tack up, muck out etc.
I have helped at Riding for the Disabled and am very gentle and calm which helps when working with both nervous horses and riders
Specialities
I regularly attend courses at Intuitive Horse in Hastings exploring how horses can accurately reflect your emotional state enabling you to recognise and change patterns of behaviour. I have also learnt how horses allow you to communicate deeply beyond the normal level of thought which can be extremely healing as allows a person and the to feel accepted and understood no matter what their circumstances . I enjoy working with horses and people with regard to therapy which I find very rewarding.
Type of Ride Work
I no longer ride but enjoy working with horses including day to day care and therapy work. My main interest now is working with horses in the field of therapy rather than riding which includes the rehabilitation of rescue horses and also using horses for therapy.
