Qualifications
Having been a member of Cowdray Pony Club I completed my Efficiency Tests up to C+ level, the remainder of my qualifications come from hands on yard experience. I am thorough, effective and first and foremost passionate. Having stepped back from horses within the last three years, it has become apparent that I would like nothing else than to work with horses again. The last job I loved was my yard job and I am looking for an opportunity to work with horses again.
Duties of Current Occupation
Currently I am working at a Management of Affairs company who act as advocates and attorneys for vulnerable and elderly adults. I am however looking for a change of career, I do not suit being in an office all day and miss working outside with horses
Equine Work Experience
I began working with horses from a very young age, I had my own ponies from the age of seven at our own yard and I managed their care and upkeep independently. I began working at a full livery yard with 30 horses at age fourteen until seventeen, I managed all feed, mucking out, turn out, prepping horses for shows and lessons and was hired privately by owners to exercise and lunge. As a member of Cowdray Pony Club I passed my C+ exam which includes riding, bandaging and grooming. I am also experienced at clipping and pulling especially with difficult horses and ponies! I left the equine world due to my academic responsibilities whilst at university, I have a First class degree in Politics and International Relations and a Distinction in my Masters degree which I finished in September 2021. Having undertaken an office job in advocacy, I have recognised that my passion lies within the Equine industry and I wish to work outside with horses, I am an outdoors hands on person.
Specialities
I enjoy keeping a tidy and clean yard, it was paramount that our 30 beds at the livery yard looked identical and yet still met the needs of each individual horse. I enjoy seeing my hard work in the shape of well kept horses and yards, ensuring that every individual horse gets the correct supplements, feed and requirements. I am incredibly organised and whilst still being young working at Monnington's Equestrian Livery yard, I was able to run the yard alone due to my knowledge and work ethic.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden and worked a variety of ponies and horses, including extensive hunting, competing with Cowdray Pony Club at area eventing, showjumping and dressage. My last pony was a 14"2 showjumping mare, we competed affiliated BSJA to 110cm and was scouted by the BSJA Hampshire Junior Academy, who I trained with and competed for. I have extensive experience of hacking out, schooling and competing. If it was not for my academic studies, I would have moved onto senior BSJA and ridden full time.
