Duties of Current Occupation
Currently studying BSc(Hons) Equine Performance and Rehabilitation at Hartpury University. Worked in various professional equine settings for 7+ years, and working as an Accessibility Assistant for Festival Republic over the summer holidays.
Equine Work Experience
I spent 8 years volunteering at my local riding school, which other than the instructor, was ran by volunteers. I was often in charge of managing the horses, other volunteers and clients in efficient manner. I also completed a week work experience at a higher-stress environment of a riding school in central London.
For 6 months last academic year, I completed University placement at Hartpury Equine Therapy Centre, where I learnt how rehabilitation plans were created for client horses, as well as carrying out stretches, electrotherapy, and working horses and dry and water treadmills.
I am completing a placement year living in Littlehampton, and am looking for work alongside.
Specialities
During my degree I had spent 6 month completing placement at Hartpury's own Therapy Centre, garnering experience on the dry high speed treadmill and water treadmill.
I have and am completing theoretical equine studies in regards to biomechanics, physiology, nutrition, management, rehabilitation and much more.
Type of Ride Work
While volunteering at the riding stables I have helped produce horses, and work with the more 'troublesome' horses to be used in lessons. Exercising horses when needed, I am able to do hacking, jumping, flatwork, lateral work and low level dressage. I have experience with rears, bucks, bolts, refusals, the lot!
