Bio
I’m 21 and graduating from Hartpury University this summer with a Bioveterinary Science degree. I’ve ridden since I was 8 and worked at riding schools and for event riders in my local area. Looking for a horsey role in Wiltshire with accommodation.Qualifications
My degree in Bioveterinary Science covers some equine topics on grazing management and disease prevention but hasn't directly linked to equine science. My previous experience gaining BHS qualifications during pony camp weeks are more suited.

BHS Stage 3
Duties of Current Occupation
Alongside my GCSEs I worked at Mill Lane Riding School doing yard duties, tacking up, riding and helping with children. I then worked for event riders Sophie Bell and Benjamin Hogarth doing yard work, riding and grooming at championships (BRC & PCC).
Equine Work Experience
I’ve ridden since I was 8 years old and during my time at riding school I completed my BHS qualifications through gymkhana weeks, where I developed confidence in riding, horse care and general stable management. As I became more experienced, I went on to full loan my own pony, which gave me responsibility for all aspects of care and management including feeding, fitness, turnout, grooming and daily exercise. With my pony I regularly competed in showjumping and also took part in fun rides, cross country schooling and combined training, which helped me gain confidence riding in different environments and situations. I really enjoyed getting out competing and being involved in all parts of preparing and caring for horses both at home and away at events. I’ve continued gaining experience through work opportunities with event riders and competition yards. Last year I attended the Pony Club Championships and qualifiers grooming for the Essex Hunt North Pony Club showjumping team.
Specialities
Experienced handling young and unhandled New Forest pony foals, helping prepare them to become show ponies. Also confident running a riding school yard independently at weekends, including organising lessons, managing the yard routine and assisting customers and children.
Type of Ride Work
I also regularly ride for Sophie Bell when an extra rider is needed. This includes hacking, XC schooling, fitness work and fun rides, and has helped me become confident riding a variety of horses with different temperaments and experience levels. Although university has meant I haven’t ridden as consistently over the last few years, I’m always keen to get straight back into riding and yard life and I’m excited to continue building my experience further.
Competition Details
Yes — I’ve worked and groomed in competition yard environments for both Sophie Bell and Benjamin Hogarth. My responsibilities included daily yard duties such as mucking out, feeding, turnout, tack cleaning, grooming, riding and fitness work, alongside helping prepare horses for competitions and ensuring the yard ran smoothly day to day. I’ve also groomed at competitions including the BRC , PCC and qualifiers, where I assisted with turnout, warming up support, travelling horses and organisation.
