Equine Work Experience
Military overview - I began riding at 6yrs and I went on to serve in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps for 13 yrs as a Veterinary Technician, Instructor/Horse Assessor. I rode 1.20m regularly within the military circuit and competed at Olympia in the Services Showjumping final. I worked with horses from green youngsters to 20yrs+ carrying out daily routine veterinary treatments, as well as treating varying injuries & ailments with the vets. I produced rehabilitation programmes for horses recovering from soft tissue injuries and assessed horses suitability for new roles within the military, or if they were suitable to re-home. I have handled horses at various stages of training. Also I lectured students working towards their BHS AI in veterinary areas e.g, signs of health, basic dentistry, lameness. Vet University students on Equine handling, passports and basic care. I have also taught Pack animal transportation for use in different countries and managed a 260 acre equine estate.
Specialities
I am a confident, highly competent individual with lots of experience to offer. Happy on the yard or in a position of education in horse care & welfare, stable management, riding, training, feeding and veterinary nursing care. Also have experience in assessing nvq quals in equine care, animal care and welfare. Team Player.
