Equine Work Experience

I'm an Australian currently based in south Gloucestershire, ready to put in the hard graft in exchange for the opportunity to receive regular lessons on a variety of horses, and improve my riding. I have experience grooming and riding in event and hunt yards and instructing in a riding school. I work hard, learn fast, take the initiative, and the horse ALWAYS comes first. I want to listen, learn and improve my riding.

I grew up on a horsey family farm a few hours north of Melbourne eventing, doing pony club, hunting, stockwork and a bit of the odd showing, and producing and selling project horses (ex-racehorses, projects and rescues from the local saleyards) and helping my mother (who does dressage to a high level) with breaking in and bringing on young warmbloods.

I moved to the UK five years ago doing charity work, and started hunting and then discovered the eventing scene, and so two years ago produced my first horse to do BE with - and now I am hooked.

Specialities
  • Working and producing young / green / 'difficult' horses
  • Consistent and patient in establishing a good flatwork base as foundation for everything else
  • Treat every horse as an individual and train accordingly
Type of Ride Work

Dressage - up to Medium/Advanced Eventing Hunting Showjumping Hacking Teamchase

Competition Details

Evented up to PC Grade 1 (1.05-1.20m) Australia.Patchy BE90 record - proudest result was my first ever BE event at Monmouth when I entered the Open BE90 and won a Foundation Point with no idea, double clear and 1000 time penalties.I finally had my dream eventer that I'd saved up for by producing another horse and selling in 2019/2020, produced him and placing at unaffiliated competitions last year to start BE100 in 2021 -but sadly he's been diagnosed with navicular. So back to the drawing board.
