Level 2 apprenticeship in racehorse care and management.
Duties of Current Occupation
Day to day care of the horses on the yard including mucking out, managing the exercise needs of the horses, rugging , feeding, tacking and untacking before and after exercise and racing and other day to day jobs as required.
Equine Work Experience
I have ridden and owned my own horses since I was 7 years old. I am a competent rider and have experience of working with and handling stallions, young stock, brood mates and of bringing young horses into work. I have worked as a weekend stable hand for a private family run yard and more recently I have completed a level 2 apprenticeship in race horse management on a racing yard in Worcestershire. This was a job I loved, but unfortunately came to an end due to the shut down of horse racing due to Covid 19. I hope to be able to complete further qualifications in the future though.
Type of Ride Work
Flat work and jumping up to 90cm.
Competition Details
Show jumping and dressage at British Riding Club level.
