Whilst I don’t currently have a formal BHS or other equine specific qualification I do have up to L3 in animal management/work-based animal care having completed a foundation FdSc year in Animal Management at Askham Bryan university centre, Level 1 Work-Based Animal Care and A-Level Biology alongside a wide range of experience in different animal settings. I also hold an outdoor first aid qualification.

I have a well-established background experience in equine animal husbandry having owned and stabled at home ponies and horses since the age of 4. I am confident and competent in all the daily care and welfare of equines alongside handling, grooming, tacking up, and preparation etc. I also have experience of loading / travelling equines, competition & post-competition care, and support around farrier /vet care. I am a competent rider and have competed within BS, BE-90, BRC to national competition level (individual and teams) and within the National Schools equestrian competitions. I have ridden 13.2 ponies through to 17.3 eventer/hunters. Having always had our own yard/fields at home with at least 3 equines, I am equally versed in the upkeep requirements of a yard and ensuring the appropriate standards to ensure the welfare/safety of the animals and those using the yard.

I am a competent rider and have competed within BS, BE-90, BRC to national competition level (individual and teams) and within the National Schools equestrian competitions. I have ridden 13.2 ponies through to 17.3 eventer/hunters. I have ridden in equine disciplines including dressage, SJ, HT, XC, hunting and general hacking.
