Equine Work Experience
I have been riding for over 10 years. Along with the pony camp experience listed above, I have also worked as an assistant trainer, working horses for clients, lunging, grooming, etc. When I am not at school, I compete with The Wild Ranch equestrian in Elizabeth CO, under Andrea VanMeenan
Specialities
I have worked at a hunter/jumper summer camp for 6 years. Along with teaching the kids about horse basics, safety, and giving first lessons, I was also solely responsible for their wellbeing and entertainment. I can quickly come up with horse-related games/activities for them to play and they are often educational as well.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden all ages of horses. I do not have experience starting/breaking, but have ridden them freshly off the track as well as freshly broken. I have competed in the hunter-jumper world for 8 years, including extensive flatwork training, lunging, and experience on jumpers, hunters, and eq horses. I have been successful in the eq and medals through 3'3.
Competition Details
I have not formally worked as a groom at competitions but have lots of experience with it. I also compete often and am comfortable/familiar with show grounds and the expectations there.
