Equine Work Experience

I’ve volunteered full days at various rescues and facilities around Connecticut, along with working at a lesson barn in Norwalk. At the volunteer facilities, I would muck out all 12 paddocks along with 4 stalls twice a day. I would also assist children to make sure they were grooming and tacking properly. I’ve been a trail guide on foot to make sure everyone is safely riding and to give tips while in the forest. At the lesson barn in Norwalk, my daily duties included mucking out 8 stalls, cleaning paddocks 3 times a day, grooming, tacking up, vacuuming and bathing horses, taking temps, riding and lunging, grain, hay, and more. I know all the main barn duties, that’s for sure! I strive to find a job that will bring me to my full potential.

Specialities

I was hired at my previous job for mucking stalls with extreme detail. Everything I do is done with precision and care. I was the main groom at a lesson barn I worked at, meaning I had to make sure I was on track with all other duties all while making sure the horses were ready for their lessons in time.

Type of Ride Work

Heavily looking to improve my riding and groundwork skills. My ideal job would include lots of riding and the opportunity to start/work with problem horses and/or young horses. My main goals are to gain a very balanced seat, to jump, and to start horses. I plan to be a trainer, but I must work on being a great rider first.

Competition Details

I would love to show in the future, but as of right now I have not shown.
