Bio
Looking for a primarily riding position, as I’m eager to gain more exposure in the ring and continue learning underneath professionals. Hoping to find a place I can stay long term and grow alongside the business.Documents
Duties of Current Occupation
Current duties include riding client horses, teaching lessons, overseeing our grooms, coordinating w vet, farrier, clients, creating each horses’ nutritional diet.
Equine Work Experience
Worked at a reining & cow horse ranch in Texas for over a year, where I mostly started colts, and also was given “problem” horses to re-educate.
Then ran my own small business out of my family farm for over a year, working with young horses for clients, before being offered a job at a dressage facility in Kentucky. Here I learned the foundations of dressage while still working with development of young horses.
After taking a break from the industry for two years and moving to Miami, I found my way back into a barn and started riding jumpers at age 25. Shortly after, my fiancés work toon us to NJ, where I got a job as a barn manager and rider at a large H/J facility.
Two years after stepping into the H/J world, I now own and occasionally compete in the 1.15/1.20s with my horse, as well as ride multiple hunter, jumper and Eq horses at home. I would compete more often but my job requires me to stay home and manage the farm and horses there.
Specialities
Raised on a private family farm, so experience in the daily tasks and chores of keeping a facility running well.
Leadership skills from being team captain of my travel soccer team, which transferred to being the only starting freshman on my collegiate soccer team for a division 1 university. I now manage 6 grooms at a show barn and oversee the daily operations on top of riding and teaching.
Have started colts that were in tact and given them their first 120 + days under saddle.
Type of Ride Work
Highly experienced in colt starting and training problem horses.
Very educated on groundwork handling.
Highly experienced in riding young horses, specifically warmbloods and quarter horses.
Began learning dressage at a reputable barn in KY. Worked mostly as a groom and rider for the young horses.
Transitioned fully to jumpers at age 25 and now 2 years later am competing in the 1.15 / 1.20 with my horse as well as riding multiple hunter, eq and jumpers at home for clients.
Competition Details
I have limited experience competing, but am looking to start showing more. I own a 12yo Chacco Blue x Cassini I horse that is a sale prospect that was recently imported.
Have more extensive work as a groom for the dressage trainer I used to work for, who rides at the Grand Prix level. Also worked as a show groom in Wellington for the Jumper barn out of South Florida before moving to New Jersey.
