Equine Work Experience
I started riding when I was 3, and for 8 years my family and I operated our own boarding and training facility in Eventing. I also did 4-H. As an adult, I’ve taught riding/horsemanship lessons, and offered training specializing in OTTBs. I am experienced in looking out for any physical/emotional changes, and can administer meds and change bandages. I also have experience grooming and clipping.
Specialities
My specialization is using a nervous system approach with pressure and release to create a foundation of safety and effective partnership.
Type of Ride Work
Most of the horses I’ve worked with in the past 8 years have been colts/foals, green horses, or “problem” horses that required groundwork. Thus, my seat is not at its potential right now. When I wad riding regularly, I was jumping 3’6”, eventing at novice level and showing basic dressage. I would love to expand my riding skills.
Competition Details
I showed as a kid and teenager but not anymore. I did 4-H, H/J, Dressage and Eventing.
