I started riding when I was 16. At Asbury University, I took four years of weekly training classes starting with halter breaking and ending with lots of under saddle work. I also had four years of care and maintenance classes, such as Equine Health and First Aid, Conformation, and Equine Behavior. At my most recent job, I taught riding classes to 3-8 kids every week, with the group of kids changing every week. I was also responsible for training four horses from the camp herd to ensure they remained safe for the kids and to give them a break from all the inexperienced riders. At the end of the summer, my boss allowed me to take the CHA test and I passed the Level 2 test.
