Documents
Duties of Current Occupation
Daily care, training, and maintenance of 24 high-level dressage and eventing horses, as well as barn chores and basic farm maintenance
Equine Work Experience
I have taught lessons to kids in eventing, trained many green horses, done many correction rides on naughty lesson ponies, started a few horses under saddle, and am lead for shifts at a horse rescue (managing a small team of volunteers). I have been riding for 11+ years and am currently showing the horse that I own and started beginner novice/novice as well as a new project horse in upper-level dressage. I worked as a working student at Foxberry Farms for many years and have been working at a horse rescue since I was 11y/o. I am currently on an internship at St Jacques Equestrian that ends in August and am a full time online student majoring in equine science.
Specialities
I have worked with all level horses from feral, traumatized rescues to dead broke lesson ponies. I am known as the “crash test dummy.” I will get on anything and tend to have pretty high success in correcting bad behaviors and/or teaching good behaviors. I enjoy a challenge.
Type of Ride Work
Typically I ride green horses/ problem horses in 3-phase eventing. Just to get their show mile’s up and give them experience before passing them to a more permanent rider.
Competition Details
I have helped run eventing shows at foxberry farms, as well as worked with lesson kids at away shows (grooming, tacking, keeping on schedule, warm-up, and coaching), as well as shown consistently for over 10 years.
