Duties of Current Occupation

I have run my own barn and training program for 8 years now. I have experience with training horses, teaching lessons, and managing the daily activities that are required within the barn.

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding for 25 years and have been a full time professional for 9 years. I am comfortable training and showing horses as well as coaching riders. I have a well rounded background as I have ridden hunter/jumpers, dressage, and evented within my career. I spent 3 years traveling the United States working for barns in order to expand my knowledge not only in my riding, but also to learn to effectively run a stable and program for the horse and rider. I have ridden in Germany and studied under experienced German masters, which is an extremely important part of my education. I have shown Training through Grand Prix level in dressage on horses I mostly trained myself.

Specialities

I have a very tactful feel when it comes training horses of all levels. I am capable of starting young horses in a well rounded manner and then transferring that into their specific discipline. I believe good groundwork and life manners are extremely important in shaping a good riding partner. Having evented as well as done dressage I am very aware of what it takes to develop a horses will and am open to finding the right training program that brings out the horses will to work.

Type of Ride Work

While I have done a full range of work with horses. I.E. problem horses, young horses, retraining, confidence building, and bringing a young horse up the levels. At this point in my career I'd like to focus on developing young horses up the levels and/or retraining older experienced horses to reach a new level in their show careers.
