Duties of Current Occupation
Feeding and cleaning two barns of 7+ stalls, herd management of 70 horses. Riding and training 5 or more horses a day.
Equine Work Experience
I have 20 years of experience managing barns and herds of 80 horses and less. I am familiar with feeding and cleaning, care of stalled and pastured horses, basic vet care, and barn management. I am an EWI certifier through CHA. My teaching experience includes group lessons of 4 horses or more, ranging from beginner to intermediate riders, both adults and children; more specifically I am a dressage rider, trainer, and instructor and can teach beginner through 3rd level dressage lessons confidently. I have ridden through the PSG and schooled I-1, however it has been several years since then and I am admittedly rusty with the more upper level riding. I have more than 10 years of summer camp experience, and for three summers I was the Summer Camp Director at MCC Highlander Ranch in Waco, Texas, as well as barn manager at Willow Spring Farm, also in Waco. I have been managing the boarding program at Highlander Ranch since 2017, managing up to 80 horses, including 14 school horses.
Specialities
Manage a staff of 2-5, worked with foals, started young horses, worked and ridden breeding stallions.
Type of Ride Work
My focus is dressage though I can teach either western or English and have had very basic instruction in reining.
Competition Details
I have my USDF bronze medal and have ridden through the PSG. I have been assistant trainer at a competition barn in Eastvale, California. Showing has not been my main focus, though.
