Bio
Hello! My name is Liberty and I am in search of a career in the equine profession. I have lots of experience working with and riding horses! Ideally, I’m looking to learn how to train horses, with a focus on liberty work and natural horsemanship.
Qualifications

In December 2024, I became certified in Equine Sports Massage, Kinesiology taping, and Raindrop (essential oils) Therapy. I am currently taking an online class in equine nutrition.

Duties of Current Occupation

Daily care such as feeding, turn out, stall cleaning. Riding horses under trainer’s guidance. Teaching lessons, creating lesson plans. Teaching children barn safety, basic handling and riding skills. Obtaining vital signs, administering medications.

Equine Work Experience

I began my experience with horses as a young child on my grandfather’s farm. From there, I began showing horses in my local 4H program and continued showing for eight years. After graduating high school, I worked as a veterinary assistant at an equine hospital for a summer. From there, I worked for a nonprofit organization teaching children from low income schools about horses where I built the program from the ground up.

Specialities

As an equine veterinary assistant, I assisted with collecting stallions, foaling out mares, learned how to give injections/draw blood, wound care, among other skills. I also have leadership experience working as the “Equine Programming Coordinator,” creating classroom curriculum, training staff on the curriculum, directing staff while working with students, gathering materials for lessons, ensuring the safety of both staff and students, and gathering feedback from staff and students to improve.

Type of Ride Work

In 4H, I showed western, english, and some speed events. As an adult, I am still comfortable riding both english and western, going on trails, riding younger/green horses, but only have experience doing flatwork.

Competition Details

I competed for eight years at the 4H level, but have not done any competing outside of that. I would love an opportunity to get back into it!
