Experience working in a 100-horse barn.
Mucking stalls, cobwebbing, cleaning water and feed buckets, grooming, riding 5-6 days a week on various horses, general barn maintenance
I grew up on my family's Quarter Horse farm where I learned the ropes of horse care while participating in 4-H. I showed in Horsemanship, Showmanship, and Western Pleasure, but after I finished high school I decided to attend the prestigious University of Findlay's English Equestrian program so that I could learn to Event. Thanks to the opportunities provided me at Findlay, I've worked with horses of all ages, breeds, and disciplines, and I have extensive experience starting young horses under-saddle and tuning-up our senior equine citizens for the 4-Hers. I've given riding lessons for beginners and advanced amateurs, from ages 6 to 46. I've done some showing in Dressage, Equitation, and Jumper classes.
I graduated in May of 2019 with a Bachelor's of Science in Equine Business Management and an Associate Degree in English Equestrian Studies. I also received the University of Findlay's 2019 Equine Business Management Leadership award.
Business management, Teaching lessons, Eventing, Dressage, Groundwork.
Flatwork and work over poles to improve training, way of going, and communication. Slow and steady wins the race when it comes to horse training. Once I feel a horse is ready to handle jumping calmly, I begin jumping small crossrails.
I competed in halter and confirmation classes, western pleasure, and western horsemanship in 4-H, and I've shown in equitation on the flat, equitation over fences, jumpers, and dressage at the University of Findlay.
