Finishing my AA, planning on majoring in Occupational Therapy with a focus of Hippothearapy (Equine therapy). In training to obtain my PATH international certification for horse assisted therapy.

Duties of Current Occupation

Showing western, English, and Icelandic horse riding. I’ve ridden various breeds, gaited and non-gaited Working as a stable hand, groom, horse exerciser and teaching beginners how to ride. Currently in training to become PATH certified instructor.

Equine Work Experience

I have been in the equestrian industry all my life, 3rd generation. My dad is a farrier and we bring in 1-2 client horses at a time to train at our barn. I also work for Virginia Lauridsen with Icelandic horses, showing and teaching others, both little kids and adults.i was part of an IEA term for 4 years which shaped my confidence and abilities to ride any horse.

I’ve worked with Stallions, foals, mares, geldings, younge horses and d horses.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden green horses, OTTBs, quarter horses, gaited horses, ponies. I’ve done jumping, dressage, eq, western ranch riding, reining, Icelandic style riding and trail riding as well as had 8+ years experience in the show world. This past August I went to Switzerland as a groom for Team USA at the Icelandic Horse World Cup

Competition Details

I have been competing for over 8 years. I’ve shown in many different show environments. I was part of a YEDA and IEA team for years, which if you know is a team that rides together once a week at their home barn and then travels to a host barn which provides horses for the riders. The horses provided are warmed up and then randomly assigned to the riders without any warm-up time the riders go straight into the show arena to get judged. I’ve shown English and Western also have been a groom.
