Qualifications

Can drive a tractor and operate a spreader, safely drive a horse trailer. Have run lesson programs, maintained training/grooming/show schedules for myself and other clients. Is capable of keeping the office organized in addition to running the barn.

Duties of Current Occupation

Organizing various appointments, placing feed/hay/shavings orders, filling out entry blanks, daily activities in the barn, getting horses to the show ring on time. Currently breaking colts to be ridden under saddle and schooling green horses.

Equine Work Experience

25 years of working in various disciplines from hunter/jumper, dressage, eventing, and polo. Experienced barn manager and groom ranging from basic boarding barns, sales barns, show barns to young horse training programs. Know how to organize and set up for shows. Capable of safely holding horses for veterinarians/farriers/etc. Works well with people and animals.

Specialities

Handling difficult horses, body clipping, lunging properly, working in high paced situations, maintaining an organized workspace with a positive attitude.

Competition Details

Professional career has more time spent on the highly competitive local/regional circuit in Northern California because we had a large number of young horses and clientele who preferred those shows . Focused more on a positive experience for clients stepping up from the local schooling shows to the next step up. Goals were to get the young horses in my care experienced and comfortable in the show ring.
