Duties of Current Occupation
Volunteer work at various barns, helping at summer camps, working at a barn on an island for the summer in 2025, internship at a riding center during fall 2025 semester.
Equine Work Experience
I started riding in 6th grade, I am now a senior in college. I am confident on the ground with horses, from leading and turn in/out to ground work and lunging. I can walk trot, and canter comfortably . I have shadowed a horse vet and know basic equine terminology. I can administer medication, vaccines, and draw blood, as well as look at vital signs of health. I can groom and bather horses, and can do farm maintenance and stall mucking quickly and well. In summer 2025, I worked at a small horse farm on a private island where I gained hands on experience and riding experience in a fast paced environment. I am learning to teach beginner lessons at an internship right now as well as barn management and equine therapeutic riding.
Specialities
I have not, but I have worked with a strong team of people caring for over 200 goats. Through communication and strong teamwork, we got tasks done in a timely manner. I worked at a horse farm in summer of 2025 as well and acted as a leader there to get tasks done in an organized and timely manner.
Type of Ride Work
I am confident with basic flatwork and schooling of horses to get them fit and keep them in shape.
Competition Details
No, being on the horse and competing myself was too stressful for me, and I prefer the ground work and care that goes with horses as opposed to the competition side.
