Bio
I have one 4 month old sheltie puppy, still learning manners but super smart and well behaved and one 2 year old cat who's well behaved and indoor only that will be coming with me wherever I go so pets allowed is a mustDuties of Current Occupation
FEI Dressage Groom- Daily tacking/handling of mares/geldings/stallions ages 3+, monitering injuries, pulling shoes, wrapping legs/hoofs, polutice, tidy clipping, manes, body clipping. Raising-Daily care of broodmares and foals stalled and field kept
Equine Work Experience
Almost 5 years working on a high profile breeding and competition farm in all departments including the raising department during foaling season and going to Wellington, FL for a winter season with an FEI/CDI rider as a groom. Daily care, health monitering, medicating and handling all ages of horses.
10 plus years of riding, 3 of them with a free lease that was my sole responsibility for all 3 years.
Specialities
I spent 3 years as an FEI Dressage Groom working with mares, geldings, and stallions 3 years and older and have also spent about 2 years working in a foaling/raising department working with broodmares and foals ages newborn to 3.
Type of Ride Work
Currently out of the saddle for almost 3 years after my free lease mare retired and went home. I picked up a few flat work rides on school masters the first year my mare retired but then moved departments on the farm and lost my riding opportunities.
When I was riding consistently I was doing mostly low level dressage work while working at the farm and some low level jumping before moving to a farm where it wasnt possible and my mare was too old to continue
Competition Details
Worked as FEI Dressage groom for 2 different trainers over 3 years. One focused mostly on young horses starting and the other was a string of mostly stallions ages 3 plus. I spent a winter in Wellington with the 2nd trainer and the stallion string but did not accompany them to any shows as none of my boys in the string showed that season. Although I did not go to any shows in Florida I did groom at many away shows over the years including Region 1 Dressage Finals and Dressage Regionals
