Equine Work Experience

My experience in horses includes training from breaking out to Grand Prix level jumpers. I have managed my own stable full of lesson and boarded horses and managed an Olympic rider's training facility. I was the director for a program abroad where I taught beginners and built up a successful lesson program in addition to managing the facility, staff, and horses. For the last 11 years, I have been teaching equine and equestrian courses at the college level and have been training and certifying riding instructors through CHA. I also teach therapeutic/adaptive riding to individuals with disabilities.

Specialities

My passion is teaching and managing the riding school. I try to get the most out of my students and their horses by challenging them not only in daily lessons, but by encouraging them to participate in camps, lecture courses, horse shows and clinics that either I or other local professionals have organized. I have been teaching equine and equestrian courses at the university level for 11 years.

Type of Ride Work

My discipline of choice is show jumping, but I have a solid background in dressage and hunters and am confident riding in western tack. I enjoy taking riders out for trails, trekking, and hacks.

Competition Details

I have competed professionally in Hunters and Show Jumping at the local, regional and zone "A" rated level shows in the Midwest and East Coast of the U.S. I also have hosted several shows and clinics at all of the stables I have worked in. I have groomed at the FEI level and have worked in lesson barns, university stables, and therapeutic riding centers.
