Duties of Current Occupation

Riding and caring for two thoroughbred fillies. I clean their stalls, care for their health, monitor their body scores and diet, and ride/train them. I am also a limit rider on the university's IHSA team.

Equine Work Experience

I have worked in several different professional equine environments before. I am currently a student at the University of Findlay in the equestrian studies program which I would consider a professional environment. I have also worked in these environments over my summer breaks (3.5 month) in between semesters.

Specialities

I take pride in my work as I am a very handworker. I keep a clean and organized area and work in a professional manor. I have never lead a team in an equine scene but I have many leadership opportunities throughout school. I have worked in several different barns and am teachable to anyone's standards. I have experience with foals, yearlings, fillies, and broke horses.

Type of Ride Work

I have experience riding horses that range from unbroke that have never been sat on before to doing 2'9 schooling courses. I have 'problem' horses that rear and buck as well. I have started 3 horses now and brought them to the level of lead departures almost (the semester ended) to lead changes. I have experience with a variety of flatwork and dressage movements as well since I rode dressage horses in lessons for 6 years.

Competition Details

I have been a working student for a show barn before. I have worked for USEF as a drug testing technician which helped me familiarize myself with how shows run. I have competed in rated shows (intermediate children's hunters Kentucky summer classic and Aiken summer classic). I am also on Findlay's English IHSA team as a limit rider.
