Bio
Experienced working with horses in a variety of disciplines, and interfacing with the public. Finishing school and interested in a job where I can keep my current horse (semi-retired, 25yo thoroughbred gelding).
Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Biology. Wilderness First Aid certified (expiring 2027, but willing to re-up). Willing to consider pursuing additional qualifications as needed.

Duties of Current Occupation

Leading horse tours for the public in a National Park (grooming, tacking, riding, leading, pack-stringing, and interpersonal regulation for inexperienced riders). Stall cleaning, feeding, medical monitoring at equine rescue/retirement facility

Rescue/Retirement Facility in Cave Creek, AZ Equine Assisted Therapy in AZ Outfitter/Dude Ranch in Glacier, MT Western riding lessons in AZ Hunter/Jumper lessons in OH Dressage lessons in MT, MA Horse owner since 2019; barefoot trimmer

Specialities

Extensive experience with older horses. Worked with a high diversity of breeds and familiar with English and Western disciplines. Excellent skills interfacing with the public. Comfortable outdoors, on trails, and in unpredictable situations.

Type of Ride Work

Trail horses (draft cross, quarter horse, other) for low-impact, distance riding. Hunter/jumpers (thoroughbreds, warmbloods), similar breeds in foundational dressage. Western riding horses (quarter horse, paint, other) in basic gymkhana activities. Lots of experience with off-track, retired racehorses. Considerable experience with Haflingers.
