Duties of Current Occupation
- 5 years of experience as a barn hand (Mucking stalls, Feeding, Turnout, and general maintenance)
- 4 years experience as a home/show groom. ( Trailering, Lunging, pre & post ride care, grooming, tacking, and prepping horses)
Equine Work Experience
I have been riding for 12 years, and around horses even longer. I have owned/leased multiple horses. Although I only have show miles in the Hunters/eq I have had the opportunity to ride many different horses. I have been able to work with multiple trainers and have gained a substantial amount of knowledge from each of them. But I am ready to take the next step, and i am eager to continue learning and growing as a rider.
Specialities
- Worked with/ridden green/unstarted horses
Type of Ride Work
So far all of my personal horses have been either hunters or equitation horses. But I have had the opportunity to ride numerous sale/client horses for my trainer. Because of this I do have some experience in riding/schooling showjumpers, and young horses. (addition) This summer I have had the opportunity to work as a wrangler at Cheley Colorado Camps. I have been leading/ managing trail rides and lessons of up to 15 children under 12, managing horses, and working around the barns.
Competition Details
I have attended many A rated horseshows in the past 4 years, though prior to this year I mainly attended as a groom due to financial constraints. This year I was able to compete at Wec ohio, Bravehorse, and the Kentucky horse park in the 3ft children's division.
