Equine Work Experience

Daily barn responsibilities include feeding, mucking stalls, resetting grain, turnout and bring-in, administering medications, and monitoring horses for changes in behavior or health. I also handle cleaning, reordering supplies, and supporting record keeping for health, feed, and general barn operations—both physical charts and digital spreadsheets. I’ve assisted with camps, lessons, and events, and help at shows with grooming, tacking, prep, and admin support. I showed when I was younger and now primarily attend shows for equine photography while still pitching in on the ground. Comfortable exercising and flatting horses both English and Western. Looking to continue building practical yard experience while applying my admin background toward a management role.

Specialities

Day-to-day horse care including feeding, mucking, turnout, medication administration, and monitoring health or behavior changes. Support with camps, lessons, and events. Show assistance with grooming, tacking, and prep. Experience with both physical and digital record keeping for health, feed, and barn operations. Comfortable flatting English and Western. Strong background in organization and admin that transfers to barn management tasks.

Type of Ride Work

English and Western. Experience exercising and flatting horses as part of daily work. Most of my riding has been in a lesson and program environment rather than formal training or competition. I’m comfortable riding when needed and happy to include it as part of the job.

Competition Details

Showed when I was younger. Currently attend shows primarily for equine photography and to assist with grooming, tacking, prep, and admin support. No formal competition experience in recent years. Comfortable supporting a show team on the ground or in the saddle.
